LPW Technology expands into South Europe

02 Jul, 2016

LPW Technology Ltd, market leader in the development and supply of specialist metal powders and total powder management solutions into the metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) industry, is delighted to announce the launch of our new European base in Italy.

LPW Commercial Director, Phil Kilburn explained “We have chosen to centre our new office in Italy, midway between Turin and Milan where it is well positioned to support our ever growing customer base in Italy and Switzerland. Italy has a thriving metal AM industry, also known as 3D printing, particularly in the medical, auto sport, and aerospace sectors. As metal AM technology moves into the production environment it offers faster prototype development and subsequent production of complex, safety critical structures so the industry needs to be well supported. LPW recognises the need to work closely with our customers, sharing our AM development expertise across all aspects of powder development, supply, handling and traceability.”

Metal AM is showing a massive rate of growth as the technology has matured into production scale activity in some of the most demanding industries in the world. There is a clear need for a sustainable source of reliable high quality metal powders with the associated infrastructure of advice, support, new alloy development, analytical services and traceability. LPW is able to provide this through its total powder management system – PowderLife.

LPW in Southern Europe will be managed by Andrea Medina who commented “I am delighted to be joining LPW to support the expanding customer base, the business relationships we already have in the region are very important to us and we look forward to working more closely together as the need for smart metal powders and support infrastructure grows.

The Italian office complements LPW’s existing European commercial operations based in Germany, North West of Munich.
