Carole Garrett, Non-Executive Director at LPW Technology has been awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for Contribution to Enterprise and Skills in Burnley.

Carole is the Managing Director of Profitoptimiser Enterprises, a Business Consultancy, and was approached 3 years ago by LPW to assist with the development of a long term growth strategy. During her time with LPW Carole has assisted in raising the company profile through Government Office and various political organisations, whilst also successfully securing in excess of £4M of Government funding, resulting in a direct impact on the growth of the business. Annual turnover at LPW has tripled and the business continues to grow from strength to strength. Carole sits on the LPW Board as a Non-Executive Director and plays a pivotal role in business strategy going forward.

The British Empire Medal was reintroduced in 2012 to recognise and reward sustained high impact local contribution. Born and raised in Burnley, Carole has a career background in engineering, working for Lucas Aerospace for almost 30 years, before deciding to harness her business management skills and change career direction by setting up her own consultancy company.

Carole said: “I am now in the second phase stage with LPW and I am privileged to be part of what I consider to be an exciting company with massive potential and prospects”

Dr Phil Carroll, Managing Director of LPW remarked:  “Carole has been invaluable to the growth and stability of the company. I’ve really enjoy working with her and am delighted that she has been recognised with this award”
