LPW Technology European commission framework programme 7 success

19 May, 2014

In collaboration with colleagues across Europe, LPW Technology was recently successful in a number of bids for European Commission Framework Programme 7 funding. The objectives of these projects are to develop metal powders for Additive Manufacturing and Cold Spray technologies through optimised material properties, material life-cycle management, and reducing the environmental impact of these novel technologies.

The funding will enable LPW to work with several organisations and universities on multi-year projects that will harness advanced material technologies, enhancing the research capabilities of the business and mass adoption of Additive Manufacturing.

Research has always been an important part of LPW’s commitment to take academic prototyping into stable component production, making use of and extending the body of knowledge that exists and continually informing best practice.

Dr. Robert Deffley, LPW Research & Development Manager, speaking about the benefits of funding opportunities from EU FP7 said;

The funding available through the Programme illustrates the high priority of research in Europe and will provide LPW with access to unified research areas leading to the development of innovative new market-leading products and services for our customers.
