Integrated metal powder handling on show at IMTS 2018

At IMTS, September 10 - 15, 2018, global engineering technologies company Renishaw will launch its new RenAM external powder silo integration from its dedicated additive manufacturing stand, West building, level 3, stand 431607.

To meet this need, Renishaw has partnered with LPW Technology to integrate their PowderTrace™ hopper as an option on Renishaw AM machines.

As standard Renishaw AM machines feature integrated automated powder handling systems which enable consistent process quality, minimize operator intervention time and ensure high standards of system safety. For some companies existing working methods demand the ability to handle batch to batch and build to build powder management.

The purpose-designed LPW PowderTrace hopper, exclusively for additive manufacturing metal powders, is an ideal solution for AM users who require rigorous powder qualification, increased traceability, batch control or the ability to change between material types on the Renishaw RenAM platform. PowderTrace hoppers have a capacity of 120 litres and feature the PowderEye monitoring system as part of LPW’s PowderLife™ suite of products, designed to control the risk of contamination in production environments.

The stand will feature Renishaw's recently launched multi-laser system RenAM 500Q which is set to improve AM productivity by up to four times, configured with LPW PowderTrace integration
