LPW’s Charity & Social Committee is celebrating after smashing through its £300 fundraising target for Cancer Research UK. Every one of the determined nine-strong team completed the tough 5k Pretty Muddy® course on Sunday May 7th in Victoria Park, Warrington.
After scaling an A-frame, climbing over hurdles, scrambling under nets and through a mud pit, the team was tired, dirty but exhilarated to hear that their Just Giving page had registered over £864 of donations, with a further £102 pledged.
“We got fit, had fun, got muddy, raised money and contributed to beating cancer,” said Beth Trew, Chair of the committee. “We’re thrilled with the amount raised, and want to thank everyone who has supported us with donations, encouragement, and chocolate and loud cheers on the day.”
Every single pound raised will help to support Cancer Research UK’s ground-breaking work, and donations can still be made at the Just Giving page click here.
